Anyone here had any success with YunoJuno ??

There are some good briefs on YunoJuno but I never seem to get anywhere, it would be good to have a chat with someone to see where I am going wrong

  • Hey Eddie, yeah agreed there are always some interesting briefs on there - I signed up orignally to boost my confidence as a fresh freelancer as there seemed to be lots of short-term bookings so ideal for testing out different companies and figuring out what worked for me.

I would reccomend fine-tuning your profile info so it just list the essentials, for me I've just got a one-liner intro then a list of skill-sets I offer as freelancer. And tag all of these below in the skills section. Also make sure you've attached any professional indemnity and public liability insurance docs in the Business section.

For months I had zero call backs, but started to get one or two bookings/inviyations to apply per month after I did these things. Also regularly visiting the site even if it's to dismiss the briefs you don't want might help as you need to provide the reasons why, probably working into some sort of algorithm YJ may have.

I think a lot of it does still come down to the pandemic though so don't get too disheartened, also I think maybe clients budgets are dry this time of year until the new financial year.

    Hope this helps :)
  • I had zero luck on their. They do like a good spam email however.

  • @Eddie Cooper I too have the same issue. I joined YJ years ago and used to get quite a bit of work through them, now it's near impossible to get anything at all. It doesn't help that some clients are time wasters and end up deleting their briefs at the last minute, or they muck about so much that the brief expires. I've actually had that happen to me more than flat-out rejection!
  • It’s a hit and miss. I had some consistent work from there and then the dry spells. It’s still a nice alternative if you’re looking.
  • My impression is that what is relevant is your work history (no portfolio, unless they check your portfolio link), so unless you've worked for big names is pretty difficult to be selected.
  • @Edson Rosas ahhh makes sense, I wasn't sure if I was setting my day rate too high or even too low because i never even get a reply
    cheeers!
