Does anyone know how much to charge for artwork usage for a fashion brand?
I’ve just been offered the opportunity to sell some of my artwork (about 4 images) for one off usage for a large fashion brand for a T-shirt/sweatshirt collection. They’ve asked for a price per print. I’ve never done something this before and have no idea what to charge. Has anyone done something similar or have a rough idea of pricing? Thank you in advance!

- The Association of Illustrators are quite useful at helping you with licensing/pricing ... and making sure you have a good contract in place
- @Luke Freeman thanks Luke - that’s really helpful
- @Lucianne Soley that’s true, I’m not sure at the moment but it would be online and across 20 or so stores
- Depends who are the brand, whats their annual turnover. Could search on Companies House. On the pricing, I got paid by NIKE £5000 for 1 design, you can ask royalties per item sold. Also depends on how many units sold, whats the cost of producing each shrit for sale.Suggest price each artwork in a 4 figure range, then ask for royalties per item sold like 5% also put a contract in place if they plan to reuse the artwork in the future.
- Following this thread!
- Remember to consider the value you are adding by them not needing to design or develop something in house. Do you know how big their first buy will be?
