Does anyone know where to get funding for films?
I'm working on a short film that will be taking place in early/ mid October and I was wondering if anyone had any advice to do with funding? Anywhere to go/ anything I could do?

- Hi, if London based, check out Film London. There's also the BFI . . .
- Reach out to Metallic Fund https://metallicfund.com/
- @Tabitha Odutayo Of course! Here you are - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dalano/the-man-behind-the-machine
- @Dalano Barnes amazing, thank for this advice - is there a chance I could have a link to your concept trailer/Kickstarter campaign to get an idea of what might work?
- @Tabitha Odutayo 1 month, although I set the original goal at £1,000 (way too low) and that was hit in 3 days. So if I had set a higher goal it may have made more.I did make a little Concept Trailer though (didn’t cost me anything as the actor and my DP agreed to do for free) and used that in the Crowdfund Campaign, which may have helped a lot.
- @Linsey M thank you so much!
- @Renée Aris okay thank you!
- @Michelangelo Torres thank you!
- @Dalano Barnes thank you for the advice, how long did it take for you to raise this amount?

- Kickstarter is a good place for short films, I just released my first short film a few months ago and raised the budget for that through Kickstarter (£2,200).
- Great question @Tabitha Odutayo, I've just sent you a DM!
- Unless you have a reputable producer it’s hard to receive public funding from places such as the BFI or Film UK. To be completely honest, short films are majority self funded or by family and friends. As you’ll be working on a micro/low/no budget, try to do/get as much as you can for free. This is the reality of the film industry when you aren’t Warner Bros.
- You can try to take a look at funding section on the BFI website.
