  • Hello,

I just recently modified my site since the old layout was horrible

  • Hi @Paulina Pisarek, you have worked on some interesting projects! On the homepage introduce yourself as a film maker and showcase your top projects. I would suggest having your website in English to reach out to a more international audience but you can create a feature which translates the pages in the other two languages you have used. In terms of colour scheme I would recommend just black and white so the user doesn't get distracted and just focuses on your vibrant pieces of work. I would also recommend shortening your menu to Work(with a drop down menu of your projects or a page with a grid layout of all your projects including pictures), about or team and festivals (this page could have pictures of events in a grid layout which if clicked on redirect you to those links displayed). I would suggest visiting someone's website with a similar company and see how quickly it grabs your attention through the design of their website and apply those things to your website.
  • Hi @Guillermo Jurado, I like your projects! I think there is an alignment issue with the green text box at the top of the homepage so centre it. I would recommend improving your contacts page there is a lot of white space such as giving it a title like Contact, expanding the contacts form to an appropiate width and centred, have the social media icons below and much smaller but also make the link open a new tab (this reduces the frustration for the user of having to look up your portfolio again) and I would recommend having your email hyperlinked (faster than copying and pasting):
    <a href = "mailto:abc@example.com?subject = Feedback&body = Message"> Send Feedback </a>
  • Hi @Heidi Hinda Chadwick, I love your fun way of expressing yourself! I would suggest shortening the text on your pages because they're honestly a bit too long. Keep it clear and concise. I would recommend simplifying your menu in which the button you click on will redirect you straight to the page not a drop down of pages because the information from those pages in the drop down menu can be displayed in one page. On your about page, write a short paragraph about yourself and the way you work. I would suggest visiting someone's website with a similar profession to yours and see how quickly it grabs your attention through the design of their website and apply those things to your website.
  • Hi @Akanksha Goyal, you have designed your website very well! I would suggest adding a meta descriptio. Meta descriptions allow you to influence how your web pages are described and displayed in search results. A good description acts as a potential organic advertisement and encourages the viewer to click through to your site. Keep it short and to the point; the ideal meta description should be between 70 and 160 characters spaces included (400 - 940 pixels). I would also recommend you givign each of your images titles and descriptions so you could enhance your online presence.
  • Hi @Danielle Lobban , I love that you're not only a stylist but a stylist helping others too! I would suggest having a short description about the site at the very top. It would be great to see pictures of you helping another stylist alongside the work you have done. You're using a nice grid layout which wouldn't require you to have a slideshow when you click onto an image. I would suggest removing the huge image at the bottom and just show the blog posts in the layout it's in. For the contacts form at the bottom, write a title like contact. Lastly, your instagram link shows an error.
  • Hi @Dennis S Bizimungu, Interesting articles! I would really recommend thinking about who your website is for because based off the name I assume that the website will present all sorts but instead it's mainly about film. On the homepage, you don't need to have the word home there but instead the name of the website and short introduction about your brand. On the menu bar, you have a number of pages which could become one page called blog and you can have a filter option for the different topics of your blog posts. I think there is a layout issue on the about us page, you could have the text right next to the images.
  • Hi @Ananda G Sanchez, I love your projects! There is a lack of text on your website which not only makes it difficult for the user to understand what your projects are about but you're also impacting your online presence. To improve your Google ranking you need some text associated with your name. On the contacts page, I would recommend having your email hyperlinked (faster than copying and pasting):
    <a href = "mailto:abc@example.com?subject = Feedback&body = Message"> Send Feedback </a> and phone number link:
<a href="tel:123-456-7890">123-456-7890</a>. These are small adjustments which will really help to improve the user experince.
  • Hi @Nina Loreena , you are so talented! It would be great to see your top projects on the homepage and to have a little description about yourself below the menu bar. Also, your website is in German and when you click the google translate option the images become blurry and you can not click on them so I would recommend having your website in English to reach a more international audience and have a German translation option.
  • Hi @Kerrie Donaghue , I like your clean website! I have a couple suggestions for your website. I would suggest having a title and description right at the top before showing the work itself. This makes it clear to the user what you are presenting to them and if you are promoting yourself to a recruiter talk a little bit about your process. Also, on the contacts page since you have a picture of yourself it would make sense to have a little description about you and you as a designer.
