For Freelancers---What date is everyone finishing this year?
I'm used to working up until the weekend before Christmas and back on 4th or 5th Jan. For this year, a bit of extra time off is so much needed.
Feel free to drop your thoughts below.

- @Christian Westphal Love your perspective. I've felt like this year has been the same. I haven't got much project work lined up for the rest of December and I'm planning to rebrand one side of my business, so I'm considering spending the rest of December doing that, taking a break then starting fresh in January.
- Hi, I've just started the project yesterday and I'll be working everyday, apart weekends, Christmas break and Bank Holidays. The organization I work for has money to spend. If they don't use the money, thwn they'll have to give it back - what never looks good, of course.
- @Christian Westphal Good shout. Thanks for the advice. taking time to recharge ready for the new year.
- @Scott Jackson Hahaha.. That was me last year. I feel like there should be a time-off rule for all freelancers.
- @Laura Hurst Ahh that's great. It looks like you're well planned. Last minute emails never seems to go away.
- I'm closing down for the rest of the year tomorrow. I'm using the rest of the month to work on some strategies to help me do better in 2021. The last few months have been just trying to fight for scraps, dealing with clients that have gotten scared and backed out due to money worries, etc. It's been a mad scramble and I don't think wrecking myself over the next month only to land in the new year with no new plan is a good idea. I do recognize that I am fortunate enough to do so because I have enough savings to take off a month, and most people don't have that luxury. I'm also taking the time to rest and some serious play. If you have the ability to, I urge you to rest. Even if it's for a day. Rest, hydrate, eat something that doesn't come from a package. Don't get distracted by FOMO. Don't compare yourself to all those out there "crushing it". Take the time to recharge and level up.
- 18th December through to the 5th January. Been working pretty much non-stop since April so don't see why I can't give myself an extended break, not least as book work has started to dry up as people guard their cash a little more. Naturally, having said that, I'll get about seventeen emails on the 19th.
- My partner and I are planning to isolate from the 19th/20th before spending Christmas with family, so this is probably when I'll stop. Like you, I need a bit of a break - this year has been tough! And it's finally starting to sink in how important proper rest time is.
- When they pull my Macbook from my cold, dead hands.
