  • Hi Gianfranco,

The website certainly says ‘art director and designer’, looks great, and showcases your work effectively.

    • I love the sentiment of ‘Make space for creativity’
    • Great, concise, copy
    • Generally, a nice clean layout with a very classy ‘design’ feel, though some may consider it overdesigned

Just a couple of general comments:
    • Even with a good connection speed, loading both pages and images can be slow
    • There is a lot going on in terms of animations and interactions, some of which detract from readability and discoverability

I've put togther some more detailed feedback which I will email to you.

    James
  • I actually like your site. It's straight to the point. It doesn't lag initially on my end, however when I'm in the projects space, it starts having a few hiccups.

Regarding the projects space, I feel maybe have less images. I would use five strong images and then perhaps include a link leading to the finished site.

Also, when i'min projects and scrolling through some fo the work, and I scroll past a dark image, your logo gets lost in that image. It would be cool if the logo turned yellow when scrolling past darker images, seeing as it's also dark.

Lastly, the footer section seems unnecessarily huge, all the external links could be put into two columns, instead of one long column. Then lower the padding slightly.

Otherwise, well done Gianfranco! I like it, it's smooth.
This isn't a bad start at all man. Afterall, art is never finished, the site will grow, adapt and naturally evolve over time, as it should.
  • A lot of experience. The site is original however it seems a bit too much.
And it's weird I say that. I like overdesigned websites. However, it works when every detail is in place. Now it feels a bit messy. Every kind of slider and plugin is installed to make it cool. In the end, the whole experience is lagging and slow and I even get lost.

If you show your work then it gets bit boring to see every concept in every size designed. You state that your role is AD+illustration as an example but I see it more as desktopper. If your role is AD I would like to see a bit of the process or how did you end up in those designs.

The image quality could be better. And sometimes drop shadows are awfully strong.

Content images load after you have scrolled past them. So a lot of grey boxes.
Some of the fixed scroll animations jump.
Some of the computer mockups look really oldish with low-resolution small screens.

At the end its bit confusing is it just to showcase your work or do you want to find new clients/full time job.
