Open question to everyone, do you think that AI is a blessing, or do you believe that it could take away our jobs one day soon????
This question is obviously aimed at all those who work in the creative field....in your opinion, is there a possible risk?

- Hi Diego,I think there is two option1. Our kobs won't be taken by AI but by someone who is using AI2. When AI can take our jobs then we will have a much bigger scare by AI than just it's taking our jobs
- I think ultimately it's a wonderful tool that can save creatives a lot of time and open up more/new opportunities. Personally I've been super interested in learning more about all the different AI offerings currently available. However, knowing employers and the nature of Capitalism, it will probably be misused to cut costs and replace employees.A fear that is valid. Humans are adaptable but we are also in essence considered with our own survival. So I wonder though if this will shift the way we view and do work.
- I think it's a very pertinent issue, and one that raises many questions and incites a degree of fear, particularly in the creative fields. However, having experimented with generative image platforms, which I publish on instagram: https://www.instagram.co/theclockworkcanvas/,I regard it as simply another tool, albeit a very powerful one.Embrace it because it's here and not going away.
- I'm talking about AI Image Generators because it's what I've experienced.I think it's an exceptional tool if used by someone who has a huge visual culture, knows what they want and fully understands the prompt language : it can generate very interesting visuals. I personally think it's great to explore ideas and concepts very quickly and perhaps it's how it must be used. Most agencies are already using it in this way.But a lame or ugly image will still be lame or ugly, even if generated by AI: the creative (human) minds behind it will always make the difference so, yes, it can be a tool that creative people (designers, illustrators) can use. There's a lot of issues that still needs to be assessed, though, like copyrights, deepfakes, privacy violations, algorithmic bias, AI feeding on itself.
- @Marco Beyermann thanks Marco, I too am generally doubtful on the topic of AI...if the development of AI continues at this speed, not only does it not leave us the opportunity to adapt to use it as we please, but it leaves us no escape in terms of working
- In my opinion AI is at the moment a tool that will help us to speed up our workflow but, I think it will most likely take over all our jobs eventually. That's it's purpose, to serve to humanity and it can already copy human creations really well, and this is just the begining. It's kind of a no brainer from a capitalistic point of view you know? why are you going to pay thousands to a creative when AI can be as creative and inovative as a human and produce much faster? And make no mistake, it can create just as a human and copy styles and techniques. To get a better understanding on this I recomend you watching a Documentary called "AlphaGo". It shows how random and creaive AI can be.
- @Emily-Jayne Nolan thanks for replying Emily, yes what you say is true, however one day not far from today we will find ourselves having to clarify to the customer that a person is better than a computer, from many points of view.
- I think it's got it's uses as a tool but that only. Good for pitching to clients with refrence images but the creative should still be in control of actually creating.I don't feel threatened by it personally because nothing will ever compare to a person to person meet, AI can't replicate me and my traits that clients like.
