Who are you during Black Lives Matter?

Right now the world is watching. Our actions, decisions and words will be judged by the future. The history we make now will be the stories told to our children's children. Who are you during Black Lives Matter?

  • @Diane Mensah Im glad to hear this. Issues of the world should be in natural conversation in order to critically look at the world. We are have a part to play in humanity. Thank you for sharing.
  • I am a mother exploring the best ways to talk about race and anti-racism with my child. I am a woman asking myself how I can be better feminist. I am a reader absorbing a book about black history called 'Staying Power'. I am a wife, daughter, sister, friend having open conversations about race with the people around me. I'm a horror movie fan finding out more about black filmmakers in horror. I'm a mental health advocate having my eyes opened to the lack of support and resource for the Black community when it comes to mental health. I am an marketer ensuring I work toward a more inclusive and representative workplace. I am a human going inside myself and unpacking my white privilege.
  • I am not performative, but I am not silent. I am writing to my MP, donating and putting my name on petitions. I am supporting Black-owned businesses with my purchases, and I am not buying from brands who perform PR lip-service to the BLM cause but don't hire or promote Black people. I am having long overdue conversations with the white people in my life. Overall, I am in it for the long-haul but I am optimistic that there could be real change.
