Would love to know all the ways creatives are staying inspired during the lockdown?

- @Natalie Richardson thank for your help. I'm going to look into meetup;)
- @Sterling Chijioke sure, it was born in my team at work soo I got lucky I guess. One of the UX designers proactively started up a group on slack, shared it around and now we meet on a regular basis to discuss. Its great to hear everyones thoughts, relations and feelings on the subjects. I have come across a few others on meetup.com in the past too. Hope that helps. Could start your own :-)
- @Natalie Richardson may i ask how you joined a book club? Quite curious as to know how the book club came about? As well as how you joined
- Videogames are a massive creative inspiration for me. I get to appreciate creativity in writing, design, storytelling, audio etc. from one source.I also find a lot of inspiration and motivation in learning about projects other creatives had. What drove their desire to create something? How did they achieve it? What were the challenges they faced? It's a great way to go beyond your own understanding of something, expecially as this year has seen a lot of isolation.
- Many ways, podcasts, evernote.design , walking, muzli chrome extension, watch The Art of Design on netflix, ask questions to creatives on social platforms, read something complete different to creativity, meditation, journalling every morning and watching beautifully shot films (and look for BTS of them).
- @Natalie Richardson reading is fantastic! Forces you to focus and pull away from your environment. I’ve gone full on hippy now...
- @Frankie Evans thanks! Love that rule, you must get so much done. Known perfectionist right here and could use this. Agree lists are great for getting stuff out of your head, I tend to feel overwhelmed at the start of most days and don’t think I’d manage without.
- @Augusto Alessi YES to walking. I walk a lot and listen to a lot of podcasts on subjects from design to looking after houseplants. Also a fan of all the online talks and the fact that lockdown has opened up opportunities to attend events across the globe. Particular a fan of Nicer Tuesdays! Super inspiring talks.
- @Martin Conway thanks, really interesting angle. I can totally relate to switching off for a reset.Reading works for me, I’ve recently joined a book club. I’ll read 20 pages over scrolling on a device for 20 mins.
- Not enough hours in the day (even when furloughed) to take in the creative media available in the modern world. It's exhausting. So much so that it can be hard to find the time to do what's most important - absolutely nothing (almost).I find running really helps. No phone, no podcasts, no music, not even a watch. That's when my brain finally switches on.
- I found a video which looks at and gives more light to art from people in the U.K https://youtu.be/hpUiKt0OgsA Hope this helps.
- School of Motion podcasts, The Futur youtube channel, Behance scrolling on my phone at will.
- I find that researching and discovering new artists/ styles and challenging myself in new ways is a good way of keeping things fresh!
- Creating a design per day, reading, walking and attending webinar or workshop online. Tell us how you're staying creatives :)
- I literally have 100 ideas a minute, so this is more for motivation - I write down every thought I'm having to declutter my brain and make it all more tangeable, and I also take the pressure off myself by using 'the rule of 70%'. Basically, I don't aim for perfection, whether that's the conditions I'm working in, the final piece, etc, I just aim for 70%. It just lowers the barrier to entry for me :)
- Creating a design a day for my Instagram. This helps me stay creative and consistently come up with ideas, while developing my skills and connecting with others online on a daily basis :)You can check me out here: https://www.instagram.com/abbie.edw/
- Finally watch that difficult arthouse movie you’ve been meaning to watch for years but have been putting off because it’s 1) intellectually challenging, 2) dialogue heavy and 3) foreign language. Oh, and walk somewhere you’ve never walked before.
- By playing, by lowering the expectation, by activating every friendship into a creative collab, by giving attention to the now, by doodling, by bicycling, by inventing, by reacting, by reflecting, by researching, ...
- I've been doing illustration challanges and design competitions I've found on Instagram! It helps with building up practice but also allows you to grab inspiration from other artists/designers that are also participating.
