Want to learn how to make your speculative application stand out?

This session is only available to UAL's Students and Graduates.
Are you preparing to send a speculative application to one of your ideal employers? Do you want to gain some insights on how you can write an effective email pitch for an unadvertised role?
Join the Careers & Employability team to learn how you can prepare a cover letter and application that a company isn’t currently recruiting for. Find out how you can prepare your cover letter and highlight your relevant skills, experience, and knowledge when you have limited insight into what the role responsibilities will include.
In this session we will explore:
  • The function of a cover letter when spent speculatively to an employer
  • Useful research or preparation tips when preparing to pitch yourself to employers
  • Writing techniques for creating a succinct and concise email speculative application
  • Tips on how to make yours stand out and utilise your network
This session is ideal for students and graduates who are applying for speculative work opportunities, actively job hunting and students who may be studying on or considering Diploma in Professional Studies.
If you believe there are any barriers to your participation in this event or you have any access requirements you wish to discuss, we would be happy to talk to you. Please contact careers-support@arts.ac.uk in advance.
