Join Dr. Francesca Sobande and Dr. Maitrayee Basu for this Research Season 2021 event
Black women’s lives and experiences have been left out of most institutional and conceptual frameworks of ‘the digital’. Without contributing to flattening the nuanced lives of Black women who struggle against global capitalism, racism and misogyny, how is it possible to research and conceptualise Black women’s experience, use and innovation in the digital sphere? In what way is consumer culture implicated in this and how does this impact the lives of Black women in Britain?
Speaker: Dr. Francesca Sobande
Respondent: Dr. Maitrayee Basu
