ITV News is looking for Bulletin Reporters to work in one of the most dynamic newsrooms in the UK. This role is an excellent entry point to on air reporting in a Network Newsroom. The primary focus of is editing and voicing news bulletins for the ITVX platform. The bulletin reporter will need good news judgement, the ability to write tight news copy and a strong broadcast voice as a minimum as well as excellent editing skills. This role is 24/7 so will include some overnight and weekend work.
There will be also some opportunities to report for TV bulletins and ITVX
We require someone with a passion for covering news and a good understanding and experience of working in television We are looking for someone who also enjoys working on online platforms and has innovative ideas for how to report stories in a fresh way for digital.
To write, edit, voice and upload news bulletins to the ITVX rail working to a shift pattern
To make decisions within a team to a content editor, and when working overnight to independently make decisions about what to broadcast
To self-edit packages and other video content to a high standard under time pressure, using Adobe Premiere and Avid
To sometimes package and report live for ITV News TV programmes and ITVX
Possess the flexibility to cover breaking news, travel at short notice and enjoy a fast-paced newsroom
Able to juggle competing demands and deliver under deadline in a calm manner

Confident and versatile news reporter with strong broadcasting skills and excellent judgement
Excellent understanding of how to craft and write a news bulletin with a good mix of the strongest stories of the day
Ability to self-edit packages and other video content quickly and to a high standard
Strong knowledge of production and newsgathering
Able to write concisely, with clarity and imagination
Full understanding of legal and compliance issues including the ITN compliance manual and the editorial maturity to make the right decisions when working overnight
Proven ability to react to breaking news as and when required
Understanding of graphics and the confidence to use them appropriately
A commitment to creating news coverage that reflects the diversity of Britain’s communities
Calm under pressure in all environments, and able to adapt to a changing situation and work to deadlines
A creative and innovative approach to stories and newsgathering
Responsible for managing a safe working environment when out in the field
A knowledge of Ofcom guidelines
