A Hybrid working model

Background:
Our Nespresso scope has recently expanded to encompass their content studio.
Our solution spans the best WPP has to offer in the field of premium-brand content generation including strategy; implementation; creativity; media and production.
We’re looking for a Client Director to manage a cross-WPP team delivering content end to end from strategy, across creative development and production to delivery. Projects vary in nature but can include anything from localization or amplification of existing campaign ideas and assets through to origination and production of standalone content initiatives.
The role:
Client Director are knowledgeable and trusted client leads.
They are accountable for:
  • end-to-end project delivery, management of client and agency relationships,
  • leading diverse and dynamic project teams across the development of content strategies, creative concepts, production delivery and reporting to drive ongoing optimisation
  • driving a can-do, agile problem-solving approach withing the content studio
  • being the first point of contact with the client, escalating issues where necessary to the Studio Lead
  • building long-term, collaborative partnerships to better understand their requirements and ensure the studio is taking a proactive approach in addressing them
This job would suit:
Someone with creative agency experience in delivering content, ideally for premium brands (although not a mandatory) looking to work in an agile, fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience in and exposure to media agency strategy implementation is a plus.
Key areas of responsibility:
Communication:
  • Responsible for managing the client relationship across the end-to-end content creation journey, overseeing strategy, creative development, production and delivery
  • Oversee the on-time delivery of projects and ensure the smooth delivery and swift resolution of issues to maintain client confidence in the studio’s capabilities to deliver
  • The key day-to-day Client delivery contact with clients, and WPP agency teams
  • Understanding of client’s needs to deliver high satisfaction levels and share feedback with wider team and escalate any delivery concerns to Studio Lead
  • Act as the client contact for multiple projects, running regular status and communications with clients, defining scope and approach, setting and managing expectations and deliverables and instilling confidence as key point of escalation for delivery issues and solutions
  • Accountable for ensuring all team members are aware of timelines and deliverables
Collaboration
  • Partner with content strategist; felling client service team members, production and finance leads to ensure a smooth process, proper resource allocation and a superior result
  • Develop and maintain high levels of team effectiveness, trust, communication, collaboration, productivity, diversity, engagement and ensure the team feel personal accountability for deliverables and projects
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills with internal agency teams and WPP partners to ensure quality and adherence to production guidelines for key deliverables process
  • Manage complex projects independently and with a team, from initiation through to completion
  • Work collaboratively with all internal team members to facilitate the process of developing effective strategies and briefs that lead to great work
  • Understand and anticipate client needs, taking them into account when framing and making delivery decisions
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of project and client management techniques and bring process innovation to how we manage our engagements
  • Manage client objectives, budget, expectations, deliverables and timelines and communicate changes/direction to team members
  • Keep projects on track through clear team status, task lists, timing schedules, risk register, trackers, status and contact reports
  • Participate actively and knowledgably articulate status internally and during client interactions
  • Leverage our on-site, onshore, offshore network as well as wider WPP offering to deliver great work in the most efficient and effective way
  • Identify improvements to existing workflow and processes and work to implement these across client teams and projects
  • Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans and if needed, escalate to Studio Lead
  • Review team structure and resources on an ongoing basis to ensure client is serviced appropriately while maintaining agreed profitability and utilisation
  • Ensure the highest quality is always delivered to clients

Financials
  • Demonstrate strong commercial abilities and business and financial acumen
  • Own Client, project budget and tracking of all ongoing costs throughout project lifecycle, reconcile estimates to actuals on all projects, and resolution of budget discrepancies between disciplines, vendors and clients
  • Manage POs, financial reporting, tracking, billing against all Client and project budget
  • Manage financial aspects of assigned accounts including development of SOW and change orders, estimates, profitability analysis, and utilization, working with Finance where appropriate
  • Responsible for monthly billing and tracking of all production budgets
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the contractual obligations, commercial arrangements, and SLA’s across assigned accounts and ensure specific details are understood by the broader team
  • Grow and protect margins
  • Proactively seek and identify new revenue opportunities across your clients
Requirements
  • Client management at SAD/Client Director level within an interactive or integrated agency, with an excellent understanding of content origination and production processes including but not limited to digital, video, social, in-store, eCommerce and print
  • Experience/understanding of delivering content for a premium brand
  • Strong understanding of production and the creative development process, content production, technology, quality assurance testing and marketing methodologies
  • Ability to manage a team leading multiple projects with varying components, demonstrating ability to deliver on time and on budget
  • Experience in working with clients to shape single minded, actionable briefs that result in best in class content
  • Ability to partner with content strategists and creative teams to shape content ideas, ensuring necessary stimulus is supplied to the team to help drive innovation
  • Experience of building strong senior client relationships
  • A professional, calm, approachable demeanour, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic highly matrixed agency environment
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and relationships cross-functionalities
  • An appreciation for how great work gets done and a commitment to ensuring flawless execution and delivery
  • Proven ability to collaborate with dynamic cross-functional teams to deliver on projects
  • Demonstrates an ability to solve problems with the solution that works for all stakeholders without compromising the quality of the deliverables or the project
  • Must be commercially astute able to build scopes, create budgets and track commercials
  • Able to build teams with the right roles and structure against commercials and ensure utilisation rates are achieved to maintain margin
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Strong client relationship skills including presenting to clients, dealing with multiple stakeholders, and ability to think on your feet
  • Strong written/oral communication skills
  • Experience of working with offshore teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, wireframing/workflow tools, online project management/collaboration/ticketing tools e.g. JIRA, Smartsheet, Trello, Miro etc
