Your Role: Deputy Managing Editor
As the Deputy Managing Editor at Global, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the content and delivery of LBC’s programming, collaborating with our presenters to create the most engaging and impactful speech radio. As a Deputy Managing Editor at Global, You Will:
Key Responsibilities
  • Content Leadership (30%): Work closely with presenters and producers to craft high-impact shows, ensuring that content is always timely, relevant, and engaging. Lead with a hands-on approach, providing editorial oversight and setting the standard for excellence.
  • Editorial Strategy (30%): Push boundaries to elevate LBC’s coverage of breaking news and major stories, positioning us to lead conversations and offer unique insights. Foster strong relationships with presenters to enhance their on-air performance and align content with LBC’s priorities.
  • Team Development (20%): Inspire and develop emerging talent, nurturing a culture of innovation and creativity within the production teams. Demand the highest standards while empowering individuals to drive LBC’s programming to new heights and expand our reach.
  • Data-Driven Decisions (20%): Utilize audience insights and analytics to make editorial choices that maximize LBC’s impact and engagement. Represent LBC externally, advocating for our editorial vision and building key relationships with stakeholders.

In your first few months, you’ll have:
  • Established a strong leadership presence within the LBC team.
  • Developed a deep understanding of the LBC brand and editorial direction.
  • Led impactful planning sessions, contributing new ideas to elevate content.
  • Collaborated with digital, video, and newsgathering teams to deliver exceptional output.
What You’ll Need
  • Experience in Broadcasting: At least 5 years of experience, with a focus on editorial content and working with leading presenters.
  • Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work effectively with on-air talent and editorial staff.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Digital Media Knowledge: Strong understanding of digital media and audience engagement strategies.
  • Project Management: Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
