Vogue Business is seeking a visionary and strategic Design Lead to lead the development and execution of our brand and design style.
This role will oversee all aspects of creative direction from concept through to final execution, working collaboratively across our marketing, editorial, commercial, events and social teams.
Management and mentorship of the Senior Designer and Associate Visuals Editor.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, editorial & commercial to translate briefs into compelling creative solutions whilst adhering to the central Vogue design style.
Oversee visuals across the Vogue Business brand, spanning both design and images, producing and overseeing large amounts of high-quality work.
Lead and inspire the creative team to nurture and develop talent, encouraging a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Work with the wider team to understand visual/photo needs for editorial, marketing and commercial projects.
Take full ownership of creative briefs, managing resources and workloads for the creative team and timelines for various creative projects.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and maintain the brand's competitive edge.
Continue to evolve and develop the Vogue Business visual guidelines.
Data is an integral pillar of Vogue Business. A strong eye and understanding of data, including charts, infographics and statistics, is essential.
Past experience in leadership positions, nurturing and providing constructive feedback to creative teams.
Extensive knowledge of user interfaces, mobile and responsive design, using the latest design tools.
An innovator who can establish new design concepts and guide the creative team.
An organised problem solver with the talent to translate complexity into crisp, elegant and accessible designs.
Understand the value of great UX research and user-centred design practices. You are able to evaluate user research, testing and feedback and allow it to inform your design work.
Expert command of standard design applications (Adobe CS including After Effects, Sketch, Figma).
An understanding of digital platforms (including social platforms and CMS), along with a good knowledge of web usability and accessibility, digital trends and website design.
Experience in photo/visual production or related field, knowledge of various image libraries, stock agencies and photographer relationships.
Editorial judgement and the ability to contribute ideas to visual stories across Vogue Business's outputs.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure our work communicates clearly and is on brand at all times.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in our beautiful Adelphi office, with breathtaking views over the Thames, and next to the hustle and bustle of The Strand.
