The Role
Condé Nast is seeking a Director, Programmatic Marketplaces, who will lead & collaborate with the European programmatic and Sales teams, Ad Operations & Account Strategy teams to build the programmatic strategy, develop key partnerships and drive revenue and performance with our advertising partners.   As the Director, Programmatic Marketplaces you will play a critical role in developing key commercial partnerships with SSP’s and as our advertising clients’ trusted advisor and champion.  Working closely with Sales you will partner to develop, execute and manage complex programmatic deals across the Western European markets. You will manage a team across multiple markets in Europe. Your deep understanding of the programmatic marketplace, SSP & technology partners and your clients’ business objectives and your analytical mindset will shape future strategies through data driven insights and recommendations.
What will you be doing?
  • Be at the forefront of the strategic development of Conde Nast sales’ go to market strategy for Programmatic across Western Europe.
  • Partner with investment, planning, strategy,  and digital leads to assess client goals that help service and deliver programmatic revenue opportunities by utilizing Conde Nast's full portfolio of capabilities and technology platforms.
  • Lead internal communication with all key Conde Nast stakeholders on client initiatives, dynamics and opportunities.
  • Manage SSP partner relationships to both grow demand and revenue opportunities.
  • Track revenues for both PG and OA across markets working with the local market teams
  • Negotiate deal points, and monitor progress
  • Research agency and client information to better understand how to best increase and deepen our relationships, and deliver on their needs
  • Serve as the Conde Nast internal and external Programmatic consultant, educating clients and agencies on capabilities and best practices—ultimately grow existing business partnership
  • Own partner & client meetings,
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key client stakeholders, fostering regular and impactful engagement for all matters specific to assigned clients, provide problem resolution and escalations.
  • Work with Category Managers in measuring progress, proactively identifying new business opportunities and revenue growth.
  • Maintain deep foundational understanding of our ad products and capabilities (i.e. data, video, social, new products, etc). Partner with related teams (Marketing, Yield/Inventory and Platform Strategy) in all pre-sale efforts
  • Partner with Inventory to assess risk and ensure we deliver in full on contracted goals and optimize toward client KPIs
  • Partner with the Global Programmatic Account Management team on best practices and day to day reporting & opportunities.
  • Participate regular business reviews and take a consultative, long-term approach to build productive relationships with clients, in collaboration with the sales team
  • Communicate directly with agencies, clients, internal teams and outside vendors as necessary on custom program implementation
  • Support and work with the sales team on pre-sale research and pitch documentation.
  • Drive technology partners relationships for growth in sell through and monetisation rates.
Who you are:
  • Very strong advertising sales and/or agency planning/strategy
  • Ideally, minimum of 3 years in an ad technology or programmatic specific role;  hands-on familiarity with DSPs, SSPs and the programmatic marketplace is required.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong ability to perform independently and proactively while working in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate ability to work with a broad range of internal and external clients.
  • Solutions oriented
  • Well organized and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills/team oriented.
  • Ad Serving software and tracking knowledge a plus.
  • Experience in managing teams both locally & remotely.
  • High energy and teamwork mentality is a must.
Where will you be?
This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in our beautiful Adelphi office, with breathtaking views over the Thames, and next to the hustle and bustle of The Strand.
