Artist Relations – Our team and impact
Our Artist Relations Team at Universal Music is an integral and passionate team working with our artists, managers and labels.
We deliver events, artist schedules, concierge service and artist activity calendar, oversee and organise UMG’s ticket buys and parties for industry awards, support all our charitable partners, and much much more.
A Day in the Life
As an Events Manager within the Artist Relations and Events department, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse range of events for artists and record labels. This will involve managing up to 150 events annually, including artist showcases, album launches, pop-up events, company events, awards parties and roadshows. All requiring careful collaboration with labels to ensure the creative vision, guest and fan experience is realised while maintaining financial oversight.
You will work closely with record labels to identify venues, manage stakeholders, and assemble bespoke teams to ensure each event is executed to the highest standard. In addition, you will support large-scale internal events, including some of the most anticipated music parties of the year. Your role will encompass managing negotiations, overseeing event logistics, and ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards.
Your primary focus will be on delivering UK-based events, particularly in London. In this role, you will need to navigate complex scenarios, manage expectations, and influence senior stakeholders to ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest creative and operational standards. You will also collaborate with the wider team to deliver a world-class artist relations service.

You are comfortable taking the lead and making real-time decisions, even in high-pressure situations. Whether managing budgets, aligning stakeholder expectations, or overseeing intricate event logistics, you are committed to seeing every project through to successful completion. Your deep understanding of the music industry, passion for live events and having your finger on the pulse of what happening industry wide, will ensure you become a trusted partner for the labels and artists you work alongside.
Skills and Experience
Event Planning & Execution
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and delivering high-profile events, ideally within the music, fashion, media, film, or entertainment industries. You excel at managing a wide range of events, from intimate artist showcases to large-scale company gatherings, ensuring each one is delivered on time and within budget.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Proven ability to build strong, lasting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, particularly senior executives at record labels and artists. You are a skilled negotiator, capable of maintaining transparency and trust, while knowing when to push back where necessary.
Budget Management
  • Experienced in managing event budgets with a clear understanding of the financial aspects of event planning. You are adept at gathering the information required to ensure events are delivered within financial constraints and communicating with the labels and managing expectations.
Venue Sourcing & Supplier Management
  • An excellent knowledge or London venues and a talent for sourcing the perfect venues for each event.  Maintaining databases of venues and have established strong relationships with suppliers.
Creative Problem Solving
  • You excel at transforming a brief into a meaningful, impactful event that aligns with the artist’s creative vision. Your focus is always on delivering the highest level of guest experience.
Health & Safety Compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety requirements for both large and small events, ensuring smooth and compliant execution.
Data & Insights
  • You are data-driven, with experience capturing event insights to inform and improve future planning and decision-making.
Administrative Expertise
  • Highly organised, excellent communicator with experience compiling reports, maintaining expenditure records, and managing social media content for the department.
Passion for Live Events
  • A genuine enthusiasm for live music, with a deep understanding of the industry’s culture and a desire to deliver above and beyond for artists and labels.
