We’re looking for a brilliant producer to help create and deliver our growing array of distinctive audio and video content. This role will work with the best of our talent from across the operation, producing high-quality content that works across our audio and streaming platforms. The role will help produce existing brands as well as new and original podcast series, special programmes and short-form documentaries as and when they are commissioned. The successful candidate will produce high-quality and high-impact audio and video journalism, working with the best of ITV News journalists and journalism.
Recognise and work with the best of our content and talent to produce distinctive, high-quality audio and video journalism reflecting the best of ITV News values and journalism
Working with the best journalists in the ITV News operation to set up and deliver our audio and video content, working towards tight deadlines set against a dynamic news agenda
Oversee recording and editing of our podcasts when required, including use of sound design for the highest production values
Help develop and define the tone, style and production values of our existing series as well as produce original content and develop new strands as and when the need arises
Show distinctive and expert judgement and innovation in audio storytelling – with confidence about what elements will resonate with an online audience
Provide imaginative audio and video treatments for stories and present complex ideas simply and in a compelling manner
Help grow and blend our ITV News products using new studio facilities
Produce mid-form video content for ITV X and associated digital platforms such as Youtube
To pitch and deliver distinctive one-off projects as well as new strands or concepts once commissioned
Drive impact and awareness of our brands via social, producing punchy and original sells across owned and operated as well as 3rd party platforms
To show original thinking around marketing of products via social, press, contacts to achieve even greater success
Pitch original editorial ideas and creative production treatments
To work on live content and programmes on our streaming platforms and TV
To work with the best talent in the ITV Newsroom, from digital, ITV X, newsgathering, and programme production, to harness our operation's creative and journalistic output.
To help train other members of the newsroom in audio and video editing and production as and when required
Work across other ITV News departments in a producer capacity as and when editorial priorities require it
Ensure stories are accurate and comply with the law and relevant regulations
Work in accordance with ITN guidelines on health and safety in the office and in the field

A digital native who has experience of producing high quality audio content to the highest editorial standards
Track record in working on interview or news podcasts or similar formats under strict deadlines
Clear understanding of the ITV News values and agenda, our digital, audio and video products as well as our best journalists and journalism
Evidence of strong digital news judgement
Expertise in audio production (Audition preferred) and some knowledge of video production (Premiere Pro preferred)
Strong understanding and knowledge of social media, podcast discovery, and experience working across a wide variety of platforms
A depth of audio-recording skills and sound design is desirable
A track record and understanding of mid-form video edits demonstrating a technical and editorial grasp
A track record of commissioning and delivering distinctive concepts and ideas
An ability to work with team members from all areas of the newsroom
An ability to work under direction but also to demonstrate initiative and make unilateral decisions when required to do so
An ability to work in a live broadcast environment
Understanding of complex legal situations and understanding of ITN Legal Compliance procedures
An ability to problem-solve and think laterally when faced with editorial, logistical and administrative challenges
Act with responsibility and common sense in the field and office, in compliance with ITN’s Health and Safety Policies
A proven ability to manage time and people in intense and dynamic circumstances when required
