What you'll do
As a Product Developer on a 12-month fixed-term contract with Sainsbury's Product Innovation team, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and delivering their Win in Food Strategy. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers, you will shape and execute the Product Plan for your assigned sub-category, focusing on developing innovative and high-quality products that meet customer needs. You will be responsible for ensuring a delightful customer experience and product quality by setting customer quality measures, incorporating customer insights, and utilising trends to drive quality and distinctiveness. Additionally, you will identify new opportunities for innovation, create and deliver product briefs, and collaborate with design and brand agencies for new product designs. Contributing to Plan for Better targets, you will support nutritional reformulation and sustainable packaging solutions. Effective communication and collaboration will be key as you work with various business partners, sharing your passion for products and engaging with consumers and colleagues through internal social media channels.
Who you are
As a Product Developer for the Sainsbury's Product Innovation team, you are a passionate food enthusiast who thrives on bringing new trends and innovations to the market. With your expertise in product development from the retail, manufacturing, or food service industry, you have a deep understanding of commercial awareness, cost structures, and quality management. Your ability to interpret and analyse data enables you to make data-driven decisions and identify new opportunities for innovation that deliver value in the category. With excellent communication skills and experience in project management and planning, you collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to shape and deliver the product plan, ensuring customer experience and quality are at the forefront. Your passion for your products extends beyond the development phase, as you engage with consumers and colleagues through various channels to share your enthusiasm and drive for delivering exceptional products.
