Job Description
This maternity cover role is focused on managing and having ownership of title releases, which could include feature films, documentaries, TV series, kids brands and other content. It may also include managing titles from the Focus Features international slate as well as providing support to the Marketing Managers on tentpole releases. The successful applicant will drive commercial success by developing distribution strategies across all platforms, creating materials, managing budgets and liaising with multiple 3rd parties to create world-class all rights marketing & PR plans, globally.
The role will also support the wider marketing team by managing some elements of large scale campaigns and support/ownership of slate initiatives such as quarterly presentations.
The Product Manager will collaborate widely across the business, including with our PR and Digital teams, Acquisitions, Content Strategy, Licensors, Filmmakers, TV Distribution, Theatrical partners, OpCos (local & central teams) and other departments as required.
Key to this role are first-rate time management skills, a flexible and committed attitude, and the ability to think both commercially and creatively about our releases, building innovative campaign strategies to maximise their commercial potential.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Management:
  • With support from your line manager, build marketing strategy and campaign (including dating, release platforms, creative, distribution and financial analysis) for each title’s release
  • Deliver effective, creative, integrated campaigns which maximise the commercial potential of all available rights (Theatrical, Home Entertainment, SVOD, TV)
  • Research and recommend key territories for campaign focus
  • Originate and/or adapt creative elements to support marketing strategy, including trailers, key art and ATL/BTL materials to be rolled out globally
  • Brief, manage and direct external agencies (i.e. creative, media, social, promotions) to build the most effective and creative campaign
  • Work closely with our internal PR & digital teams to build considered briefs on a title-by-title basis
  • Brief and develop international media plans that consider the changing media landscape and nuances of each territory
  • Management of available marketing funds, with profitability at the heart of all initiatives, ensuring budgets are adhered to and tracked
  • Evaluate campaigns post-release to review effectiveness, analyse results, review and learn, and make necessary adjustments to future plans where appropriate
  • Work alongside Senior/Marketing Manager to take ownership of key elements and support the campaigns of tentpole releases as necessary.
  • Support and present at marketing conferences, quarterly meetings and ad hoc slate presentations, providing KSPs, artwork, trailers and other material as required
Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with filmmakers, producers, licensors and talent
  • Work with international partners across theatrical, physical, digital and TV Distribution to ensure effective and successful delivery of release plans globally
  • Develop and share assets to support local marketing campaigns, including key art, AV, packaging and above/below the line assets for use across digital, social and traditional media
  • Support international partners (OpCo’s, TVD teams and sublicense partners) in devising their release strategies, providing support/assistance via regular communication to help maximise the commercial opportunity of each title by territory
  • Gain internal & external approvals of creative assets and campaign planning, in collaboration with Legal
  • Maintain strong working relationships with International partners and internal departments (local & central teams)  as well as other divisions/stakeholders (e.g. Acquisitions, PR, Content Strategy, Operations, NBCU Distribution & Sales, and Legal teams)
  • Provide summaries to internal stakeholders and licensors, including global release dates, financial summaries, and international territory marketing summaries
Qualifications
Key Skills and Experience
Required
  • Experience within a marketing team and managing own projects - ideally within entertainment/International/theatrical and/or home entertainment, with sound knowledge of how consumers watch our content - cinema, digital, DVD, SVOD and TV
  • First-rate time management skills – able to develop and manage a critical path & multiple priorities
  • Committed and flexible team player, who can adapt to requirements within the team
  • Strong communication skills. Confident and credible presenter, able to inspire when presenting to both small and large, diverse groups
  • Able to demonstrate innovation and imagination in approach to marketing campaigns
  • Ability to think and act strategically
  • Good negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Good commercial understanding and acumen, experience of managing budgets
  • Solution-focused and deadline-driven
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
