What you'll do

As the Product Manager of Self-Checkouts at Sainsbury's, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the future of our self-service customer experience. Driving transformations that redefine how our customers interact with us across the nation.
In this role, you're a visionary. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, you'll be a key player in crafting our technology vision, make data driven decisions, and owning our roadmap. You're the driving force behind delivering innovative features for millions of customers.
But that's not all. You'll dive deep into understanding our customers' needs and devising strategies that strike the perfect balance between customer satisfaction and commercial success to deliver the Sainsbury's strategy. With your knack for creative problem-solving and a passion for experimentation, you'll push boundaries, constantly seeking ways to enhance the customer experience.
Working in agile teams, you'll forge strong partnerships with key partners, engineering and stakeholders, collaborating seamlessly to bring your vision to life. Working cross-functionally, influencing roadmaps and spearheading large-scale initiatives that shape the future of Sainsbury's.

  • You'll collaborate with colleagues across Sainsbury’s and by listening to our Customer feedback to determine the product strategy and roadmap
  • You’ll coordinate continuous evaluation to validate that products work for customers or colleagues as designed and that value is delivered.
  • You’ll prioritise opportunities for the product keeping in mind value delivery, efficiency savings and technical foundations
  • Partner with our awesome engineers, platinum partners, architects and delivery managers to design services our colleagues and customers love
  • Monitor relevant industry trends and engage both internal and external teams as appropriate to build shared insight
How You Will Succeed
  • You’re relentlessly focused on understanding, anticipating and exceeding their customers needs
  • You are able to collaborate effectively with other teams, customers and stakeholders where necessary
  • Can build a roadmap and articulate a product vision using tools and methods, such as a vision board
  • You’re technically curious – you ask the right questions to drive better solutions and can translate between customer requirements and technology delivery
  • You get data – using product metrics to prioritise effectively and seek out the right information to make strategic decisions
  • A familiarity with agile practices; scrum, lean, kanban, design thinking, etc. would be great. Along with an understanding and application of priority decision making tools and frameworks
  • You keep an eye on the commercials – get what makes a product viable and can articulate the business benefits
  • You’re a team player, always up for contributing to building a great culture at Sainsbury’s tech
