The Role

Responsible for leading and delivering the Group’s global financial management reporting, including monthly results, re-forecasts, budgets and long-term strategic planning. The role involves the critical review and proactive value-added analysis to interpret financial and non-financial information and convey those insights to Finance and non-Finance stakeholders to enable decision-making.
The individual will play a key role in continuing the evolution of the end-to-end reporting/planning process and approach, to enable alignment with organisational structures and business goals, as well as continuing to improve insights, timelines, and overall effectiveness.
What will you be doing?
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of the global monthly reporting, re-forecasts and annual budgeting. This includes communications, timetables, process, data requirements, data integrity, consolidations, and a rigorous review process.
  • Lead the annual budget process, coordinating across functional and markets teams and managing targets to ensure the global goals are achieved.
  • Prepare & present the monthly financial results to the global CEO & CFO as well as providing reporting packs for the board & Conde Nast executive leadership team
  • Manage the design, tracking and analysis of KPIs to assess performance of key projects, activities and initiatives.
  • Ensure variances, risk and opportunities, trends and other insights are identified, understood and explained and, if appropriate, recommend actions.
  • Ensure information/insights are accurate, relevant, delivered in a timely manner, and reflect a true and fair view of performance.
  • Deliver reporting/planning that continues to evolve to align with business models and strategic direction, and maintains appropriate levels of granularity and structure.
  • Build strong positive relations with finance teams across markets and functions to facilitate and improve reporting and planning.
  • Work collaboratively with the finance functions (Controlling, Finance Systems, Finance Partners) and non-Finance functions (Technology, People, etc) in providing leadership, strategic thinking, and operational execution to successfully implement projects and initiatives.
  • Work with the Advance (parent company) finance team to explain financial performance, and provide the necessary information to meet their reporting needs.
  • Lead the continual evolution of the offshore FP&A Reporting team, developing and delivering against Service Level Agreements.  And in partnership with Finance stakeholders, look to deliver improvements in reporting across functions and geographies, to enable a more consistent approach, as well as effective, efficient and value-added insights.

Who you are:
  • Successful track record leading FP&A HQ teams in a global company
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to successfully influence individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines, handling multiple priorities at any given time.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial understanding.
  • Ability to manage and influence change and deal effectively with change management initiatives.
  • Strong organisation skills to ensure that communication and engagement happen in an appropriate timely manner.
  • Workday and Oracle EPM experience preferred.
  • Experience leading offshore teams.
  • Qualified accountant (CCAB, ACA, ACCA, CIMA), with 10 years post-qualification experience
