Koi (a Korean orphan) was adopted by a billionaire, ‘Cento Corp’ founder and head scientist Yuri Nakamoto when she was 3yrs and 2 months old. Nakamoto selected Koi based on her hypersensitive reactivity and abnormal visual memory and raised her in secret away from his family. Nakamoto only had one destiny in mind for Koi, he was going to nurture and build the greatest F1 female racing driver in the world. Yuri named Koi after the Nishikigoi, (Carp) a symbol of luck, and visited her only once a week at a special facility he had built in Tsukuba, 60 kilometres north of Tokyo. Yuri was a biological father of eight, 6 girls and 2 sons. None of his eight children possessed what he thought were the right attributes for racing and blamed his wife for her bad genes, on her father’s side of the family Yuri Nakamoto was a perfectionist and Cento Corp rose to fame on account of their groundbreaking male contraceptive pill ‘Xaikamin’ or ‘Xaika’. More so than anything else Yuri Nakamoto loved racing, it consumed him and Koi was merely an extension of his obsession. Koi wasn’t a daughter, she was an experiment and her life never ventured outside of the facility, nor did she ever integrate with the outside world. A specially selected team monitored, taught and tended to Koi at the facility, vigorously conditioning and training her, for what she was programmed to call ‘her chosen path’. Koi began karting aged 4 and half years old and quickly became junior champion. Yuri would visit her every Tuesday at precisely 6:00 for an evening meal of exceptional Blue Fin Tuna sashimi and Uni. Koi only knew Mr. Nakamoto as Moto and spoke only to him when she was asked a question. Upon having her first period, Yuri instructed the male staff employed at the facility to take Xaikamin. All but one agreed, the one who didn’t disappear. Yuri Nakamoto’s experiment was moving from strength to strength and at the age of 18, Koi was placed in pole position to race in her first Grand Prix. Shrouded in mystery, Koi had attracted a lot of media attention and although tightly controlled, rumours began to circulate about Yuri Nakamoto’s estranged involvement.
