Celebrating diverse style and individuality, the SS19 venture moves on from the ‘My style, My Rules’ AW18 campaign, headed by stars including actress Jessica Barden and music artists Kojo Funds and Ms Banks. AI supermodel Shudu will also be representing the SS19 campaign. Created by British fashion photographer and visual artist Cameron-James Wilson as a digital art form, Shudu fuses the progression and ideas of digital technology with the real-life trends and demands of the current-day fashion world. Shudu’s role in the campaign not only demonstrates Ellesse owning the space as the first sportswear fashion brand to feature an AI influencer within a campaign but also shows her for the first time in sportswear. She champions the Ellesse ethos of celebrating personal style and explores boundary-pushing concepts, initially launched in the AW18 campaign. Ellesse’s iconic Jet Stripe, an original skiwear design detail, is referenced across both men’s and women’s collections; breaking up block coloured tracksuits and t-shirts. Cuffed waistbands and bat-wing cuts echo throughout the collections and further establish the brands reference to 80s archive sports design. Fabrics including premium cotton, crushed velvet and velour are introduced to the men’s and women’s collections and are juxtaposed with traditional sportswear designs including bra tops, cycling shorts and shell suits.
