Good Space

A joyous brand identity that puts volunteering on the map. It’s well documented that volunteering can help to build confidence, employability and well-being. Our Good Space branding celebrates all of these positives, and more besides.

Good Space is a collaboration between founder members Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival, national mental health charity Heads On and The Sussex Archaeological Society. It was established to help people connect with inclusive and creative volunteering opportunities within arts, heritage and sports organisations, helping participants to gain not just a sense of purpose and wellbeing, but also useful experience and skills.
Our naming solution and brand identity celebrates all of the good value that Good Space delivers: self esteem, a sense of purpose and employable skills. The design language we developed – the smiling map pin logo, warmly generous colour palette and open, inviting messaging – is positive, encouraging and vibrant. Supporting this graphic language is Rosie Powell’s delightful portrait photography, showing volunteers actively engaged at their chosen venues and locations, bringing the organisation and its aims to colourful life.
