- Carole Nash: How safe is your lidBy surveying over 1,000 motorcyclists, we were interested to know how many active bikers were currently riding with an unsafe helmet. Once the initial premise had been set, the team then set about working with the Department for for Transport and SportsBikeShop.co.uk in a bid to clarify the findings. The results unearthed the staggering statistic that over 400,000 bikers are currently riding on the roads with helmets that experts would replace. Obviously, the link-generating potential for th
- Intern Magazine: Super SchoolIssue Four of Intern is all about creative career paths - and I am unbelievably proud to see my work published within it. My article, titled 'Super School', discusses Milan's Domus Academy - a design and fashion school with an edge (in this case, a 'Metaphysical Club' founded by the academy's Creative Director, Gianluigi Ricuperati). With questions being raised about the Academy's fees (€16,990 per year, no less), my task was to find out what it is that makes the Metaphysical Club so special. Sure students may be able to benefit from the odd lecture from Jefferson Hack (Dazed Group) and Patricia Urquiola (architect and designer), but when students are already facing extortionate fees in exchange for arguably very little here in the UK, why should they assume that Domus Academy is any different?
- Leasing Options: why lease?Vehicle leasing isn't the most glamorous of topics, and trying to explain the ins and outs of the process isn't easy. For Leasing Options, this issue posed something of a challenge, and we were tasked to come up with a solution that not only explained the basics of vehicle leasing, but kept the reader engaged throughout the user-journey too. There were a number of options available to us, but in the end we decided that a collaborative approach would offer the best solution. We utilised several skill sets within the studio, including copy, animation, video and design, and as a result, we created the 'What is Leasing' page on the Leasing Options site. Featuring contemporary designs, simple animations and short, sharp bursts of copy, we were able to translate the basics of leasing into a fun, informative page. Not only does the page feature a unique set of keywords that target a particular search opportunity, it also proves the theory that content marketing doesn't have to focus on words, and words alone.
- Farah Creatives: ManchesterIt’s no secret that I love Manchester and its people. So when the news came through that Farah wanted us to head across the Pennines and interview a selection of young creatives, I jumped at the chance to be involved. My role in the process was an interesting one and, unlike our previous work in Leeds, I was the one tasked with interviewing the creatives. I also had the privilege of writing the copy for the final piece – which you check out on Farah’s blog.
- Farah Creatives: LeedsThe initial idea behind this project was simple. In short, we wanted to interview, film and photograph a selection of Leeds-based creatives with the final aim of hosting a series on Farah's blog. Not only did we hope that this would generate links from local media outlets, we also hoped that by working with a selection of men that fitted Farah's particular image, we'd be able to reenforce the company's brand and identity. The project generated some great links, including one from the Yorkshire Evening Post and several from a number of local and regional blogs. Not only that, it enabled me to learn more about the city of Leeds and the cultural offering it currently presents to its northern population.
