About me
Materiality inspires me most as a Textile Design graduate. Innovation is provoked through Materials, Processes, Technical Design, 3D Design Techniques and Advanced Technologies. Specialising in Printed Textiles I am enthusiastic to continue my development in Print, Pattern, 3D Design and Surface Design, for Product and Interior Application. I have a strong skill and ability in multiple areas such as, Raw Skills, Print Processes, Pattern & Repeat, Casting & Moulding, 3D Design and Digital Print; as well as in the following softwares, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign, Kaledo Print and Rhino 5.0. Ambitious to learn more skills and expand my knowledge of design further, I am currently seeking opportunities in the design industry including, Work Experience, Internships, Freelance and Employment.
Projects
  • Final Undergraduate Project : 'Triangeology'
Final Undergraduate Project : 'Triangeology''Triangeology' is transformative material and surface exploration. It develops to show relationships between geometric triangulation and geological forms in design, using innovative processes and techniques to push boundaries in dimension, reflective of geometric triangulation and geological forms. These aspects are key in inspiring my use of materials, handling them in a 3 dimensional way. Materiality is a focus, with composite materials and tactile experiments taking a forward role to create
  • SPINEXPO Collaboration : 'Harvest Golds' SS18
SPINEXPO Collaboration : 'Harvest Golds' SS18Designing to a brief titled ‘Harvest Golds’, a trio of geometric textile shapes were created, whilst working towards a set colour palette. Inspired by; geometric shapes, triangular tessellation and the manipulation of material, the textiles were made by combining hand dyeing and material focused print techniques. They were shown as part of the collaboration of SPINEXPO x NTU Design Students at the trade show in Shanghai 2017. Below are photographs showing an insight into the process of creating
  • NTU x W'innovate Surface Pattern Brief
NTU x W'innovate Surface Pattern BriefFollowing the brief, based on the macro trend Kindred SS18 set by the W'innovate design team, multiple surface pattern designs were created as a response and submitted for two separate categories, both Patterned Dinnerware and Fashion Stationary. Initially hand drawn and painted using raw materials, the designs were edited further in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. A placement icon, straight match key and straight match coordinate design had to be present within my finished collection. This was

I designed digital print samples following a brief set by the Studiomade@ntu trend research team. Exhibited at Première Vision Paris, they were selected on behalf of the university design studio, Studiomade. I was informed after the show that a great interest was shown in the design style of trompe l'oeil on a couple of my samples.

BA (Hons) Textile Design Nottingham Trent University
     - Nottingham, United Kingdom
Gained a basic knowledge of all textile specialisms; Print, Embroidery, Knit, Weave and Multi-media through a series of different workshops. Specialised in Printed Textiles, developing known print processes in the print room and digitally through technical workshops. Independently expanded own knowledge of Print and Surface design in Casting and Moulding and 3D Printing workshops. CAD workshops developed my ability to use multiple softwares to create digital print designs, enhance screen printed textiles, visualise designs and to design patterns for laser cutting and etching. Independently sourced learning of 3D Design software Rhino 5.0 enabling me to create 3D designs. Developed ability to work in a team towards live briefs set by companies in the textile design industry. Developed ability to work towards competitions and exhibit work as a freelance designer independently. Studied theory surrounding the theme of Design, Culture and Context. Focusing on various topics to write a Dissertation on the Materiality of Colour in design.

A Level : Textiles, Fine Art and History AS Level : Biology This stage in my education sparked my interest in Textiles, more so than just Art and Design in general. I was able to specialise in Print, developing hand and screen printing skills here early on. Continuing with my Fine Art practice, I have exceeded my expectations in developing my raw skills. These have been transferable towards my Textiles work and a valuable addition.
