- 1:54 African Art FairBrief: Inaugural year of the African Art Fair - a sister exhibition to Frieze, hosted in the West Wing at Somerset House. 17 galleries from around the globe exhibited artwork from over 80 artists. As event coordinator, I worked with the organisers of African Art Fair, suppliers and exhibitors in order to plan and deliver the event from build to de-rig. This included, but was not limited to: - Completing a full costings budget for the event, to include the build, exhibition opening, de-rig
- Don't Tell the BrideBrief: Don't Tell the Bride is a reality show filmed by Renegade Productions for BBC Three. Grooms are given a budget to organise all aspects of the wedding, from venue to cake, without the bride knowing any details. For series 6, professional wrestler Mike chose Battersea Arts Centre to marry Becky. My role as Event Coordinator was to work with Mike and the production team to deliver the wedding in a 3 week period, over a busy weekend in September. His creative ideas included a full-size wresting ring, fire jugglers and a sword swallower.... This included, but was not limited to: - Negotiating a reduced hire rate and contract terms with the production company, to include bar allowance, lighting design and AV - Designing a floorplan in line with health and safety requirements for seating near to a boxing ring - Collaborating with events technician to create lighting and staging for the wrestling entrance - Accrediting and inducting suppliers including caterer and balloon sculptor - Completing a detailed risk assessment to cover the event - Liaising with Mike throughout the event process whilst being filmed by production company at all times - Booking and briefing staff for the event build and delivery including event assistants, crew and technicians - Delivering the event alongside the building duty manager; acting upon leaks incurred during heavy rain...!
- Heston's Great British Food - ChocolateBrief: Filming for Betty TV and Channel 4 of the finale showcase of 'Heston's Great British Food - chocolate'. A giant Black Magic chocolate box was built in the Somerset House Courtyard, and opened to reveal a Parisian-style restaurant. A chocolate themed menu was served to industry professionals, with the general public invited to taste Heston Blumenthal's giant chocolate bar, brought to the arena on a fork lift truck. My role as event coordinator was to work with Betty TV in order to deliver the filming event during public opening hours, with only a 3 day lead time. This included, but was not limited to: - Ensuring the Somerset House PR department was in agreement for the filming to proceed - Contracting and invoicing the production company for the direct costs incurred - Informing the tenants and staff at Somerset House of the filming and acting upon any impacts this may cause on the day-to-day running of the site - Booking staff for the build, event and breakdown, including operations managers, hosts, technicians and security - Creating a risk assessment for the overall event to ensure public safety is paramount - Liaising with the production coordinator for a full traffic schedule and accrediting suppliers to site - Briefing all staff and working with the operations manager to deliver the production
