After being awarded with the highest grade within my course on the Creativity for Advertising unit, I was rewarded with work experience at Otherway by my lecturer Cliff. Otherway gave me in-depth industry knowledge, such as learning how to communicate directly with brands and think more creatively about my strategic approach to product advertising. I had such a fantastic time and will take their approaches through my degree and career with me.
I completed a 6-month Marketing Internship at GROHE UK which consisted of... - Designing and communicating with agencies to create literature in the form of leaflets, brochures, online content and catalogues. - Running consumer competitions which included handling cheques. - Arranging PR events and trade shows benefitting the company directly. - Working at a matrix-style company which taught me the importance of communication between colleagues.
I completed a week of work experience at Anomaly to gain industry experience. I loved my time at Anomaly, and felt that it confirmed my ambition of working in an agency. I worked on their current Cancer Research brief, reaching out to influencers who could potentially get involved in the campaign, and discussing my ideas which I could bring to the campaign. I am sure this campaign is going to be very successful and I look forward to evaluating the outcome. I also worked on the #RecipeForDisaster campaign, which was suited to me incredibly well due to my strong passion for protecting the environment. Being a Volunteer Leader at university helped me out a lot as I knew a lot of statistics and facts that I brought to the campaign. As this campaign is predominantly social media based, I learnt a lot about what to look for when choosing influencers to use, and how to be more successful with my 'calls to action'.
