I am a Slovenian Art Director and Graphic Designer currently based in London. I have worked for clients such as Metro AG, L’Oréal, P&G, Volvo, Cadillac, Microsoft, Huawei, Ferrari World, and Tiffany & Co. to name a few. Born in the 80’s in one of the last generations of Yugoslavia, I grew up in a charming little green town in the Slovenian mountains. As a kid sitting in my parents’ warehouse, I started exploring my creative nature as I watched them turn fabric into fashion. A few years passed, and I followed their path, studying Fashion Design for a year, only to discover that my real passion lies down the hall, in the Graphic Design department. Paper in hand, I worked in Editorial design for ‘Bonnier’ (the big Scandinavian publisher). I used my Press ID at every occasion I could to enter all the biggest advertising festivals and obsessively write about the field. Eight years later, I boarded a plane to Beirut – the (ex-) Paris of the Middle East. I got a job at ‘M&C Saatchi’, followed by ‘Interesting Times’, and that’s when the times got interesting indeed. I was now working in advertising, and I loved it. But Berlin was calling! And I took the call. I lived in Germany for three years, worked in Berlin and Hamburg. Today I am an Art Director working at McCann London, and I love every aspect of the job, from concept to design, carry a pencil and sketchbook everywhere, and can still handle a camera. Engaged in creative conceptualisation as well as the execution of digital and print design, photo shoots, design integration with technology, user experience and journey designs.
• Leading on the redesign of the award-winning ‘NOW news’ platform, involved in the planning, through to the execution and final online content, iPhone and iPad app. • Working on digital content for some of the biggest companies in UAE and MENA region: Formula 1 Bahrain, NOW news, Saudi Arabia national television, American University, Medical Center, Beirut Duty-Free, Audi Bank, Solidere and more).
Active role in the magazine design, planning the design of the articles and the cover, photo shoots, creating infographics and making illustrations and drawings. Coordination between the editorial department, advertising department and printing studio. Designing and art direction of advertising campaigns for Casnik Finance. Rebranded Casnik Finance in 2008. Redesigned the Manager magazine in 2007, Moje finance, and subsequently, Trend magazine in 2009.
