Having just graduated from University, I'm currently looking to learn and expand upon my skillset in either an internship or a junior design role. In the meantime, I'm keen on working towards improving my animating and video-making skills. However, my main desire is a career in print design, typography and layout design. Alongside this, my area of expertise does venture into branding as well as web design too. Through my three years at university I have gained many worthwhile skills such as teamwork, organisation and working towards multiple deadlines. I have around 6 months industry experience where I was taught and given the oppurtunity to put my creativity to the test. I always work with an open mind, facing challenges along the way. I always take on any necessary feedback and advice from my peers to ensure I'm always improving my work. I approach every brief using research, idea generation, right through to developing the final outcome. I love seeing the process from start to finsih! I’m open to anything new methods, techniques and software to ensure my skills are constantly up to date as well as staying up to date with the latest design trends and news.Locked Pro Plan feature
BLUP x Hasbro Event; collaboration between two companies who together created a series of pieces and were then showcased at a Gallery in Central London. As part of BLUP, I assisted with the setup and helped to promote their Augmented Reality app that interacted with the artwork upon the walls. I also chatted with industry professionals that attended the event.
I spent six weeks assisting the studio manager on client briefs from branding to print as well as ad hoc tasks. Here I gained a geniune insight within the role of a Graphic Designer. I specifically worked on brand guideline presentations, identity design, advertisments as well as creating content for the company’s Instagram. Other tasks included web design templates, social media banners and designing promotional material. I was shown and guided through some basic WordPress programming as well as some basic image re-touching and image sourcing for clients.
A month long placement with a local print and a magazine establishment. I assisted with the design and some of the general layouts of articles as well as designing a few small adverts for small businesses. I was given complete ownership over a small menu design brief too. I gained valuable skills such as working to a professional print standard as well as working under pressure to meet deadlines for clients. I was also shown the print process of the magazine.
Over the course of last year, I spent my free time as a design intern on two occasions; June 2017 and then once more in August of 2018. Whilst at Studio Blup, I was assigned out a variety of short briefs set to ranging from poster design to a website mock-up as well as client presentations. The second time I returned to the agency, the workload was different. I was working on projects such as client image research as well as basic image re-touching and editing. Alongside this, I was creating client content for Instagram too. Here I gained valuable skills and learnt how to work in a professional agency environment.
A part time voluntary role over the course of the summer holidays where I was taught basic till-work and organising the shops charity stock as well as pricing shop items too.
