  • Cena Sospesa
Cena SospesaCena Sospesa (The Pending Dinner) is a service in Milan where in 28 restaurants every customer can make a donation that goes to people in economical difficulty. This service is supported by Comune di Milano and Caritas Ambrosiana. The project was developed during the final laboratory at Politecnico di Milano, and is an hypothetical rebranding. The brief required a preliminary analysis of the actual service, and then the rebranding and some campaigns. The work is structured in two phases. The f
  • First Things First
First Things FirstFirst Things First is a manifesto written in 1963 and published in 1964 by Ken Garland and 20 other designers, photographers and students. In 1999 Rick Poynor published an article on Emigre 51 where he revisited the manifesto written by Garland and in 2000 thirty-three visual communicators renew the 1964 call for a change of priorities. These three scripts have been put together into a booklet, with the only rule to choose and use just one font, in a single weight. The chosen font is Helvetica Neue, bold.
  • City of Milan
City of MilanThis is fictious rebranding of the City of Milan. The concept starts from a key word: contrast. Milan has some architectures with straight lines and other ones with curves, some areas are overcoloured and others are totally grey, Milan is half new and half old. Following this idea, it has been developed an image based on complementary colours, half curvy and half angular elements, and vectors with raster. Three slogans have been created playing on the fact that "mi" in Italian is the abbreviation of "Milan", but in English is "me": enjoy mi, live mi, discover mi. The font chosen for the image  is MTT Milano, because of its mix of shapes. There are three levels of contrast: the logo mixes curvy and angular lines, the stationery has complementary colours, and the posters for the campaign mix rasters with vectors, to fuse the modern touch of contemporary graphics and the vintage taste linked to the chosen imagery.
  • Max Bill: Timeline + Poster
Max Bill: Timeline + PosterMax Bill was a Swiss architect, artist, painter, typeface designer, industrial designer and graphic designer. This project is composed by two parts, both about the Swiss master. The first part is a timeline that goes from Bill's birth to his death. It shows the events in his life with a focus on what was surrounding him, in particular are reported: vanguards, exhibitions, his formation, his commitments, postmodernism, relevant people around him, his professions and finally historical facts. Each of these categories is recognizable in the timeline with the colour assigned to it. The second part is a poster that has to resume the graphic style of Max Bill (he went through different styles during his life, so it has been chosen just a particular moment to take inspiration from). Both the artefacts are made following Bill's style guides.
  • Cena Sospesa: Book
Cena Sospesa: BookTChis is the book that tells the story of the whole project Cena Sospesa, which starts from a first step of research, where the problems have been found. The second phase of the process is to develop the concept of the new image of the service, then there is the making of every aspect of it: from the objects inside the restaurants to the advertising campaign and website. The final step is to verify that everything works well.
  • Color Research
Color Research Josef Albers in his book Interaction of Color explains the principles of complex colour theory. By following these principles and by using the pictogram of a coffee cup, in this book are explored the possibilities, interactions and behaviour that colors have with each other. For example, it is shown how the same colour is perceived as two different tones just by putting it on a different background, or how a coloured element on a coloured background, once turned in greyscale, disappears. In the last part of the book there are some optical effects.
