- The 'Pillow Talk' CauseCreative Challenge: Arabic art and design can always seem very traditional, and whilst that's a beautiful homage to the detail, geometry and classic Arabesque designs we know and love today, there's a lack of being fun, experimental and pushing for a transition into modern, contemporary art with little rules, and more freedom of expression. The challenge is to design a limited edition series of cushions, which aims to break the mould of traditional Arabic art, calligraphy and lettering. Solutio
- SKANWork in progress. Creative Challenge 'Skan for Water' is a new entrant into the industry; their goal is to import superior quality water from Norway at scale that can compete in the marketplace. SKAN wants to develop its business first in Saudi Arabia and then expand distribution throughout the GCC. To present the source of the purest mineral water that infuses the joy of life. Consider creating an exquisitely minimalist (underlining the pure, soft water at the centre of the experience), unique and memorable visual identity. Authenticity. Purity. Transparency. Sustainability. Solution The logo introduces a clean, iconic, pure and simple, yet strong identity that represents the search for water. A drop of water, with the ripples flowing which can also be interpreted as a sonar wave. The logo gives a sense of kinetic movement and a constant flow, representing the brand’s growth and constant development. The logo and identity developed for this brand is incredibly versatile. It creates flexibility and movement - just like water. The colour palette can be explored in numerous ways and the icon is strong enough to be represented as a stand alone identity, which gives a sense of a well established brand mark. The applications for SKAN identity can be a combination of symbolism, abstract shapes and stunning landscape photography with the emblem serving as a stamp of establishment.
- Flocking BrilliantFlocking Brilliant | Mobile Application verb gerund or present participle: flocking (of birds) congregate in a flock. "sandgrouse are liable to flock with other species" move or go together in a crowd. "tourists flock to Oxford in their thousands" Flocking Brilliant is a mobile application designed to aid the recent graduate in their transition from education to working life. Creative challenge Leaving the safety net of education can be daunting; graduates often find themselves wondering, ‘Where do I go from here?’ and ‘What do I do next?’ Solution Flocking Brilliant provides a comfortable and personal approach to the issues and milestones we all face in life, including debt, loans, money, tax, employment and housing. The origami elements in this app originate from the commonly known ‘flapping bird’ design. This idea links to theme of the app – the direction you choose in life is now in your hands. Just as origami requires the folding and unfolding of a blank sheet to make a new shape, a graduate must take their own blank slate and prepare for the unfolding of a new chapter in their life. This app is a must-have guide to these new beginnings. Flocking Brilliant is a fully-functioning app built single-handedly by designer Saliah Bryan, from initial idea through to conceptual discovery and brand implementation. Campaign elements Posters Flyers Business cards Creative origami 'Graduate Hat' hand-outs Twitter/marketing campaign #flockedoff This particular mobile App has been supported by a Cambridge based company called Creative Front, unfortunately due to funding, the App could not be published and is still in search of a company or organisation to support the idea and get it off the ground.
