One of the contributions I am most proud of while working at Cygnus was creating an overlay technique for identifying changes in highly detailed architectural floor and ceiling plans. Instead of a side-by-side comparison between two stacks of old and new plans, my digital overlay technique reduced the time spent from hours to minutes and increase the accuracy to near 100%. Multiply this process across a team of 20, or so, staff working on dozens of projects a year and you can begin to feel the ROI.
As a Project Designer I also lead the content development, illustration and design of the Alberta Health Service External Signage Guide that provides AHS internal communications staff with the tools required to implement and maintain a consistent external signage program.
Planning, editorial, illustrative and design support was the day to day work at Cygnus creating attractive and high end signage systems to sectors in government, health care, post secondary and hospitality sectors.
