I responded to a call for artists by The Friends of Canadian Broadcasting.
Here is the overview:
”FRIENDS is currently seeking Canadian illustrators and visual artists to create original poster art on the theme of "I Am Canadian Content" to be used in an upcoming campaign. A series of 11x17” posters will be produced to be distributed to our supporters and made available for sale for a limited time. They are meant to be bold expressions of our cultural sovereignty, and beautiful artistic keepsakes.”
They reviewed my portfolio and invited me to submit three concepts for their poster competition and campaign.

We all agreed that the concept of the woman wearing a niqab playing hockey was the most striking, so I provided them with two options for how the illustration could be developed.
They said “…your original sketch was so striking and unique that's what we were looking for…” and here is how the final poster was created.
