Anyone else feel that the job market is full of positions were they ask for the world, but aren't willing to pay for it?

- This is evergreen.
- Good to know other people are thinking the same... I see loads of job adverts that ask for a graphic designer and then spout off 15 other things that have nothing to do with the physical description... in my old job, we had digital and print designers, but it seems like you need to know everything facet and then some these days to get your foot in the door.
- This has been a pet peeve of mine for some time, on two fronts:- Studios and organisations listing mid-level jobs under entry-level titles. So now Junior Designers need several years of experience despite the role fundamentally being a learning one.- Jobs listing a number of different jobs as one single job. As a book designer, studio jobs are now design, illustration, and web design and I've seen a number of jobs in other sectors do the same thing. Sometimes, it's not even linked. I've seen jobs asking for design, web design (html, not CMS), social media and more. The level to which the vast majority of studios and companies are looking to cut costs by paying less for experience work or placing a number of jobs under a single banner - even places that should know better - is really starting to get out of hand. And as someone who speaks to a fair few junior designers, it's pushing a lot of young people out of the industries they've trained for.
- Totally Jonathan!I see lots of ad's asking for the moon on a stick all the time.I've seen some looking for a Junior with skills from coding to animation to 3D (and on it goes), sometimes with several years experience too???Some read like an 8 year old's Christmas wish list.
- yes - have been thinking the same thing when looking at job posts.I saw one post this morning - it had a list of requirements AND it was unpaid.
