Anyone notice some users don’t accept connections

Starting to notice users have declined connections requests, has anyone had the same treatment

  • I didn't know there was a way to see who declined the connection request, good to know.

It has happened to me more than once to refuse a connection requests for various reasons: empty profile and without any information about the user, obviously fake profiles, professional profiles too similar to mine or even contact profiles that I do not consider profitable and who will not be able to never bring me work.
  • Hi, Jess -- As Kat and others have mentioned, I would not take it (too) personally. There are plenty of legitimate reasons why someone might refuse or ignore a request to connect. I would pay attention to and cultivate and continue to grow the connections you *do* have, and not worry too much about the few people out there who, for all we know, have left the platform entirely, or are plain old bots.
  • Hi Jess,
Same as people below, I've refused if the profile is empty or sloppy/fake looking. Also, there are people spamming too.
Again, I wouldn't take it personally.
Aim for good people that resonate with you, quantity is not the factor.
  • Yes I have ! Some other things I’ve noticed
    SPAM ADS
    low key trolling
Being ignored when you answer an advice question (cheers for that )
I’ve refused a few connection requests becoz the person has nothing to show on their profile and I don’t trust anyone any more. It’s usually a bot or going to try to sell something
  • @Anna Negrini Agreed, they're not going to connect if they don't think you're legit. A lot of profiles are set up and then left idle (probably due to the amount of social platforms already out there or too busy) so wouldn't take it too personally. Some may have a very good reason for keeping their connected circles closed/tight.
  • Hi Jess, I try to connect with everybody but I had bad experiences with scams and spammers with "empty" or fake profiles, so I check that the profile is legit (profile photo present, portfolio/work experience uploaded, etc.). I understand it's a time consuming task so from time to time I go back and review the pending connections with no content to see if anything has changed :), so my suggestion would be maybe adding a project or a photo profile might make things easier.
