Are virtual events helping? If so, what's the most valuable thing you've learned from one. also feel free to note down some upcoming ones!

- We've taken two tactics with my clients, the first being shorter events as IG lives, you can get the audience involved and anyone can join and dip in and dip out, plus they can be repurposed to feed after and they are short and sweet, plus you can collab with larger brands and attract new customers. The alternative is a masterclass style format, where you get taught something, send a goodie bag and you pay a small fee for it, it incentivisies people to attend and know what they are getting after the hour.
- Virtual events definitely feel more accessible. It doesn't really matter who you are or where you're based. You can join in and be a part of something!I find events which provide practical guidance are best. You want to leave with actionable advice not just "fluffy" tales. Also, "Zoom fatigue" is definitely a thing at the moment. Are there ways we can combat this through a different virtual space?Just some food for thought! :-)
- Hi MiskyLoads. I’ve heard some incredible stuff over the last 12 months especially from Squiggly Careers, Matt Follows, the team at How to Academy, IsolaTED talks, Colin Lewis and Contagious.I saw something great on how to actually work out your value and communicate it effectively which was:Understand your Value+Communicate your Value+Be comfortable delivering your prices=Charge what your worthAnother thing I picked up that I really worked for me was about treating rules as hypotheses right now rather than firm prerogatives. Really helped me shape my thinking on my Stop Waiting Start Creating free Masterclass which you can access at www.unleashtheboom.com/SWSC.And, follow @vikki Ross for learnings every day on great copy and how to write it - it always keeps me in check.Stay Boom!S
- @Vikki Ross thanks Vikki. Planning the next one very soon!
- Hi Misky,Virtual events have really helped me during lockdown - they've filled my need to hear creative people talk while I'm not around them as much as I'd like to be.I really enjoy @Rebecca Rowntree and @Scott Morrison's events but there are loads to choose from here on The Dots.Best wishes,Vikki
- Hi Misky,What I have find most helpful about virtual events is reaching a wider pool of creative individuals that I would have in pre-pandemic times. Yes we cannot travel and definitely meeting people in person makes a difference, but for the last year I have had access to different views, backgrounds and creative processess and I am grateful for that.Another positive outcome for me is how online events (as exhausting as they might be for both sides), have removed hierarchy off the equation and there is now a visual equality that enables access and communication.Hope this helps!
