  • First Question - What is the long term plan?
Second Question - Do you need a small fast sports car? Or a big truck?

If you are NEVER going to need more than 5-10/15 pages - off-the-shelf is okay.
If you start with an off-the-shelf website builder type (cheap-quick 'n easy) and later: you want to expand, and you want to migrate your domain, and you want new templates, and all the bells and whistles - you will be in a whole world of pain.
And you will be paying anyway.
If you have even an inkling of an idea that this thing will grow - deal with it now. Get a custom domain that is not running on SpotiWordWixFlowWeb's servers, that is not stuck with a few "starter" templates (all good templates will cost you), that you can customise and upgrade for ever, that you can move from host to host if you get a better deal, that is not going to be held to ransom because of your content.
I have built literally hundreds of websites. My own site started with 20 pages of Content - I now have 280 pages of Content.
Because I have more work to show and sell.

Sports car is nice on the race track.
But the truck will lug those heavy loads forever.

    Ciao!
  • It depends. If your purpose is to build something basic and functional then a builder is the way to go. This is usally the smart route for most businesses who just want an online presence or a very rudimentary setup. If your website is a cornerstone of the business AND requires heavy customization, then custom development may be worth looking at. Do note though that it is VERY pricey. So think carefully before going for one.
  • I would definitely go for WordPress. It's incredibly versatile. You can build anything from a simple landing page to a fully functional e-commerce site. I specialize in WordPress development based on custom designs that align with the business’s purpose, both visually and functionally.
While predefined themes can cover the surface-level needs of a business, building from the ground up using a visual builder (with minimal HTML and CSS 'cosmetics' coding) allows you to follow the business workflow and develop the site to fit its real needs. That’s why I focus on custom designs.

  • If you don’t have any particular requirements, I’d opt for website builders. they’re an easy and straightforward solution.
