- Good question! - Asif Kapadia- he has tremendous empathy and his documentaries on controversial celebrities never cease to surprise me!
- Thomas Vinterberg (Celebration, Another Round). I think film buffs probably know his work but he deserves wider acclaim if you ask me. Also, Pawel Pawlikowski (Ida, Cold War, My Summer of Love), Ashghar Farhadi (A Separation, About Elly, Everybody Knows).
