What skills have you learnt during this lockdown period that have nothing to do with your field of industry?

- I’ve started to write and perform spoken word / poetry!
- Not new, but I'm trying to relearn Mandarin. I had lessons for a year but it all fell out of my head when I stopped! I'm having to start from the beginning but I guess I have the time! Anyone else learning a language?
- I am taking this time to train myself as a graphic recorder and generative scribing, through reading, online courses, videos and practice. I reckon that companies will need to shift their strategies after the lockdown and I would like to offer that extra layer of communication to my design & strategy experience. But moreover I have learnt to be PATIENT which I have not been too good at in the past.
- I'd probably say i've found more time to get into cooking. This current situation has allowed me to step away from the fast paced metropolitan lifestyle; one that only really allows for eating on the go, making quick meals or eating out, and instead I take more time to cook. Also with the stocks in shops, the limited time you can go outside etc i'm getting more creative with using ingredients and making recipes. Trying to understand the nature of why certain ingredients are used in certain dishes so i see what could be substituted.I've had a slow cooker in the cupboard for ages but now i'm busting that out all the time.I find this whole stuff also quite therapeutic as well.A bit random but then hey everyone needs to eat and everyone needs a creative outlet!
- I have gone back to painting and started painting with oils again on big canvas.
- I'd say I haven't learnt anything wholly new, but I went back to do some jewellery making and cooking. I would love to learn drawing or illustration, though! What about you, @Will Dauphin?
- I have expanded my knowlegde and skills on ProCreate software on the iPad Pro and the power of the apple pencil. My new work is now live mark.karwowski.com/illustration plus I have now uploaded a free giveaway for kids and adults to download markkarwowski.com/free.
