Curated by WIRED’s award-winning editorial team, WIRED Smarter explores top-level industry-agnostic themes such as talent, scaling, economics, design, diversity and artificial intelligence – and drills into industry-specific challenges and opportunities within the retail and money sectors.

What is different and/or new for 2020?
The WIRED team have thought long and hard about the best way to translate our incredibly dynamic and awe-inspiring in-person events into a virtual experience. Although running virtually translates into many benefits for our attendees, there are some critical differences:
_Accessible and virtual: We are charging only nominal fees for the most basic access to all of the conference content. This offers our attendees around the world the benefit of cutting all travel and accomodation costs, and allow them the freedom to enjoy the content in the comfort of their home or office.
_Punchy, dynamic content: We know that you're busy, so we have designed the programme to run as punchy 90-minute sessions – twice a day (morning and afternoon), for three days. All three morning sessions cover industry-agnostic topics; each of the afternoon sessions are dedicated to a different track (retail, fintech, growth).
_Optional upgrades for networking: We've listened to your feedback, and understand that networking, brainstorming and speaking with peers is a key reason to attend events. That's why we added in a few additional – optional – upgrades that give you access to 1-to-1 chats with other attendees, and a choice of both roundtable and workshop, moderated by the WIRED team. This is a fantastic way to get into the active WIRED community of influencers, startups / scaleup founders, investors and technologists – and hopefully, a way to keep us connected during these unprecedented times.
