We are now looking for an Assistant Editor/Writer to assist in the editing, writing and curation for a weekly Guardian newsletter. This role was created under the Legacies of Enslavement programme. The role will be appointed on a 12-month fixed term contract (Part time - three days per week).
About the Role
  • Edit, curate and sometimes write a weekly newsletter reporting on Black populations around the world
  • Work with news and other desks as required
  • Work with colleagues, including reporters, news editors and multimedia team, on collaborative projects
About You
  • Experienced journalist with a strong track record working on national, regional, local or specialist titles (at least 3 years)
  • Interest in global news agenda, particularly as it affects Black populations
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience in editing and sub-editing copy
  • Ideally, you'll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role
