Burberry is looking for a talented Assistant Merchandisers to join our Global Retail Merchandising team. Within this position you will support all merchandising, forecasting and trade activities for the RTW division. You will coordinate and assist with Global and Regional Open to Buys, provide collection guidance, and conduct commercial analysis to drive sales, sell-through, and margin.
Pre-Market Activities: Assist with Collection Merchandising for Raw Material forecasting, and excess management; analyse sales performance and productivity for future collection planning
Capsule Open to Buy Guidance: Assist with alignment to Finance Budgets, by Division/ Category and guidance for option adoption, distribution strategy and depth to ensure sufficient COTB to support assortment and divisional strategy
Market Collection & Buy Analysis : Assist the Category Manager to build Market Open to Buy templates and guidance based on finalised assortment, including Core offer investment guidance and Runway mix where applicable. Assist on raw material management following order placement, cutting to clear where appropriate to balance RM vs finished goods excess
In-Season Trading: Assist with quarterly product insight and commentary for Investor Relations teams in support of earnings announcements
- Provide bi-weekly stock rebalance recommendations to optimize inventory efficiency, undertake customer and competitor insight analysis
- Assist with re-orders, pull forwards and deliveries with supply chain across Retail and Wholesale to maximize sales revenue
- Assist with product lifecycle and delist proposals in conjunction with Collection Merchants and Category Managers
- Partner with Regional teams and internal stakeholders, including Marketing, VM, Client Engagement and Regional Retail Teams, to drive initiatives to boost sales
Demonstrated experience in a planning role, assisting with the global open-to-buy process, collection open-to-buy guidance & collection development and margin planning
Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with credibility across all levels of the organisation and different cultures
Dynamic and collaborative style, able to build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
Experience with PowerPoint, Excel and SAP would be advantageous
