A Hybrid working model
Now offices are fully open we have embraced a hybrid working model, which allows our employees to split their time between the office and other locations, something we hope will provide everyone much more flexibility to their working week. What does a Lead Videographer do at Hogarth?
Hogarth Studios is growing to meet the demands of an ever-changing business. You will be expected to grow with that, develop with change, and be able to thrive with the demands of the business and that of an ever expanding client portfolio that the business represents. We are looking for an individual who can adapt to a changing and thriving creative department, someone who wants to get ahead and who loves working in a versatile and positive environment
  • Responsible for directing and shooting premium video content for as a leading voice from a videography perspective. Liaising directly with producers and clients, you will be on the ground delivering on briefs.
  • Creatively lead the video content across projects, ensuring craft and quality, both in what you do and across the wider camera team.
  • Take on client briefs and offer creative solutions to shooting them, working closely with other team members to develop these ideas.
  • Ensure that all projects follow the folder structure and naming convention guidelines provided
  • Maintain constant communication with the Head of Content Production.
  • Ensure your studios and kit are well maintained and in good working order
  • Work with the creative and styling teams to develop treatments and responses to briefs, as well as providing edit notes for the editor.
  • The lead videographer will liaise directly with crew on set to ensure that all shoots are conducted in a professional and structured manner. They will also be accountable for ensuring the junior members of the team are well supported.
Reporting lines and key stakeholders
This role reports to the Head of Content Production.
You will work closely and operate under the Hogarth Studios team, based in Old Street.
Requirements
  • The right candidate will have good understanding of Production and Post Production workflows and will work closely with the Production and Post Production teams to ensure best practices are adhered to.
  • Experience in directing, as a DOP or as a senior shooting director. You will have a wealth of experience shooting both product (table-top) and lifestyle.
  • You will have an in depth technical understanding of video equipment, lighting and new innovation (such as Virtual Production) involved in the shoot process and be able to provide advice and recommendations on kit given a creative brief.
  • On set you will work closely with your Camera team to ensure premium content is captured to the highest standard and is correctly backed up at the end of each shoot.
  • You must be comfortable directing talent and crew as well as managing clients on set.
  • You must have an excellent understanding of video lighting and how to create beautiful cinematic imagery.
  • You should be a good problem solver and be able to offer innovative, creative solutions to capturing content that clients have not considered.
  • You will be efficient when it comes to time management to ensure everything can be captured on time.
Desirable Experience:
  • The right candidate will have a working knowledge of the processes involved in delivering high-end content as part of a small but highly motivated team
  • Experience in the use of Adobe Premiere and Media Encoder would be advantageous
