What does a Senior Management Accountant do at Hogarth?
The role will involve being part of the Management Reporting team, taking responsibility for the reporting of monthly results for Hogarth and its Joint Ventures, financial reporting and assisting in the smooth running of the finance function within the company.
RequirementsStrategic Planning & Management
Management reporting & supporting the UK Financial Controller in day to day activities
Production of monthly management accounts and consolidated balance sheet
Work with the management accounting team to meet WPP reporting timetables
Prepare month-end adjustment journals, balance sheet reconciliations, review of prepayments and accruals
Assist management accountants when required
Comparison of actual to budget information, with analysis as required
Comprehensive commentary for management review, covering variances and arising trends
Participate in the annual, quarterly and monthly budgeting and forecasting process
Partner with the business to drive understanding and ownership of departmental spend
Ad hoc commercial / financial tasks as required
Reporting lines and key stakeholders
This role reports to the UK Financial Controller.
You will work closely with the other Senior Management Accountants and Revenue team to help deliver month end.
As required, work with management to establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company assets and operations
Ensure accurate and up to date entry of all transactions
Reconciliations and review of balance sheet accounts for accuracy, with commentary / explanations where necessary
Understand SOX compliance across the control matrix and work to bridge any inefficiencies
Assist in the preparation of financial statutory year end accounts
Manage the FA register
Year-end liaison with Auditors, Accountants and Tax Advisors
Work closely with Colleagues across the business and in particular other Finance teams
Finalist/Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
A background in media or service related industries would be beneficial (though not essential)
Experience working within project / time based organizations and high volume service businesses
Strong Excel and Word skills
Previous SOX experience
Previous experience of Maconomy and Cartesis reporting would be beneficial, though not essential
