7 Days in Sardinia

‘7 days in Sardinia’ is a project which explores those gorgeous fleeting moments, feelings and elements we all feel when spending time away. I wanted to simply document the ordinary, charming and romantic moments from a simple, slow and tranquil holiday, and how being away can make you feel. I aim to make imagery that can make you feel, and provide a sense of escapism. During the pandemic, holidaying was for some, not an option. But viewing imagery which has the ability to transport you and create those feelings of pure, dreamy, wanderlust, was an option. This is what I hope to portray within this set of images. It’s those sun dappled shadows, the morning coffee on the balcony, the warm ocean breeze caressing your body, the strong, hot midday sun kissing your skin, the sand on your toes, the sea engulfing your body, the first sip of a tequila sunrise, the colours of pastel morning sun immersing the whole sky, the Bourgenvilla flowers on every street corner, it’s the daily late afternoon naps, suncream in your eyes, those dreamy, easy mornings, slow walks to breakfast. It’s these simple everyday moments that seem to be much more special whilst away. These images are all shot on 35mm. I’m constantly in awe of how analogue can capture a snapshot in time, and create memorable, physical proof that that moment happened, even after that moment has long gone. I truly believe this is the best way to depict these magical, special, and truly cherished moments.
