A letter to the desensitised

You’ve seen so many reports of young men being killed as a result of ‘black on black’ crime, so much so that you become desensitised to the recycled headlines. You point fingers and show no sympathy for the everyday struggles the parties involved have to endure.
This may not be a story that will make you sympathise with killers, but it will be a story that forces you to feel for the young men who wish to escape this wretched life – sometimes very literally.
I hope your perception doesn’t fail you of your ignorance.
