Spending the Christmas period with the girls at Yuwa, playing football and giving out gifts, was one of the most rewarding and life changing experiences for all of us in the AIF team. We arrived in Ranchi very nervous and on edge, not knowing what to expect. From the moment we got there, each and every single one of the girls welcomed us with so much love and warmth. They made us feel safe and welcomed us with open arms. The smiles, laughter and non stop banter is something we will never forget.- It’s safe to say that we left Ranchi with 450 new best friends. All of whom have left a long lasting impression in our hearts-- However, behind all the fun and laughter is a malevolent darkness that haunts each one of these girls. All of whom have stories that are unimaginable to most of us. The AIF documentary aims to show how Yuwa is empowering these girls to choose their own futures. How they are giving a voice to the once voiceless, and providing a foundation from them to bounce from.
