This exhibition will showcase the breathtaking artworks of Urban Soup, a group of artists living in our city, bound by their love of the metropolis. Each artist offers their own distinctive interpretation of the city’s evolving environment using a variety of unusual mediums and materials in their work including:
Dazzling light installations; delicate paper sculptures; intricate cityscapes drawn with a biro; wafer-thin aluminium prints; reclaimed 1930’s windows, ultra-vivid HDR photographs; stunningly colourful acrylic cityscapes, the finest impressionist oil paintings, and interactive art. Plus a fantastic selection of affordable prints to collect.
This year’s artists include LoveJordan, the much sought-after duo who caused quite a stir with their recent sell-out show at the prestigious Woolff Gallery in Fitzrovia; Sarah Fosse whose art has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, and on the BBC; Michael Wallner, a former television producer who has exhibited world-wide including New York, Singapore, and Milan; Tom Cox, an exciting young artist tipped as ‘one to watch’ by the Evening Standard; and Munleen Sibia, a former county tennis player whose work has been featured in Vogue’s ‘World of Interiors’ and by Time Out.
The Urban Soup artists live within 10 miles of each other, yet they see their surroundings in very different ways. We look forward to showing you how at gallery@oxo this September.
